The town of Chios, called “Chora” is the largest town of the island with a population of 29.000. It is the administrative, cultural, educational and commercial centre of the island, as well as its most important port. You will learn about the history of the island, which goes back more than 5000 years. You will visit the most important points of the city. The ancient castle,the library, the Nautical museum and the Byzantine museum. You will learn about the daily life of today’s inhabitants, and their seamanship. Return to the hotel, free time. DAY 3 Armolia - Pyrgi - Olympoi - Mesta
Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting with our representative at a pre-arranged time. Today, we will visit the interesting area of southern Chios. The mastic-castle villages. First of them Armolia, one of the mastic villages. There we'll see a mastic tree and our guide will tell us all about its cultivation. After we'll visit a traditional pottery shop and we'll see the process of pottery.After well drive up to Pyrgi the unique in Greece painted village, as it is called, because of the elaborate decorative patterns on the facades of the buildings. Next station Olympoi, another impressive castle village, with a nostalgic tower in the middle and the narrow alleys covered by stone vaults, connecting the houses. At the end of your tour, you will find the village of Mesta the best preserved medieval village of Chios, protected by the Greek Ministry of Culture as a monument. Feel as if you are visiting the past, strolling around the narrow alleys of the village, under the stone vaults formed by the houses’ balconies. Return to the hotel, free time. Overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting with our representative at a pre-arranged time. Following is the city tour of Chios. The town of Chios, called “Chora” is the largest town of the island with a population of 29.000. It is the administrative, cultural, educational and commercial centre of the island, as well as its most important port. You will learn about the history of the island, which goes back more than 5000 years. You will visit the most important points of the city. The ancient castle,the library, the Nautical museum and the Byzantine museum. You will learn about the daily life of today’s inhabitants, and their seamanship. Return to the hotel, free time. Overnight.

DAY 3 Armolia - Pyrgi - Olympoi - Mesta
Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting with our representative at a pre-arranged time. Today, we will visit the interesting area of southern Chios. The mastic-castle villages. First of them Armolia, one of the mastic villages. There we'll see a mastic tree and our guide will tell us all about its cultivation. After we'll visit a traditional pottery shop and we'll see the process of pottery.After well drive up to Pyrgi the unique in Greece painted village, as it is called, because of the elaborate decorative patterns on the facades of the buildings. Next station Olympoi, another impressive castle village, with a nostalgic tower in the middle and the narrow alleys covered by stone vaults, connecting the houses. At the end of your tour, you will find the village of Mesta the best preserved medieval village of Chios, protected by the Greek Ministry of Culture as a monument. Feel as if you are visiting the past, strolling around the narrow alleys of the village, under the stone vaults formed by the houses’ balconies. Return to the hotel, free time. Overnight.
